My GP 05 1.9 Multijet has the awful black door bump strips and I want to remove these as soon as possible.

Are they just stick on bump strips or do they have the little door poppers that clip into holes in the doors?

I would like to avoid having to re-spray the doors if they have holes in.

Has anyone done this or are there any other threads on here for a demo?

Can't help but I agree they are horrid. Some cars need them to break up the panel but the Punto looks so good they detract from it.

Punto mk2s were just stuck on, and seeing as the all gps have the same doors some with the stripe and others without, I'd agree with the others here, I'd go with stuck on lol

Did mine the other day, just peeled them off, lifted the bottom part of the trim first and used a plastic tool to help lever it up, didn't damage paint work and didn't use any heat or wire and it was on lacquered paint too!!

Successfully managed to get my bump strips off this weekend.

I went with the heat gun and dental floss method and it worked a treat. I definitely needed the heat gun to warm up the door and plastic bump strip.

It was just a case of being patient and gently warming up them up.

There is a lot of paintwork that needs sorting on the car so going to tackle the mess that was underneath the strips when I sort the rest of the car.
