Posting for my daughter!
Her Fiat 500 (65 plate lounge) came with 2 keys, std plus a remote ke.
However, on purchase we were told the remote didn't work. The key blade will open the car, and indeed start the car, so teh immobiliser chip works.

She sent the key off to a repair place (probably ebay/amazon from her previous form) but they say the pcb can't be repaired.

What is the best option here? Can just the pcb be replaced?
How is the remote locking part programmed?
Is the transponder bit part of the pcb?

I am pretty handy with mechanicals, but age is playing havoc with my ability to do tiny stuff :( but I have a relative who is good at electronics and stuff, though no interest in cars.

Any recommendations, preferably "affordable"?

Thanks
Clive

Thanks for the reply.
I have just read through that thread. Seems they ended up with a complete new key:(
I had previously replaced the battery, tried cleaning bits etc and assumed having teh switches replaced might be the issue (lots of kits to do that, and repair services doing the same)
But it appears the PC is toast?
I am hoping a complete new key is not required, just the remote pcb and get that programmed? But hoping somebody will have experience of this or know who can do such a repair.

I much prefer my old cars that just use a normal key!
