Technical Remote Central Locking

Hey guys

Having a bit of trouble with my RCL on my mk2 sporting

Since I have had the car, the RCL has never worked (manual central locking has). I presumed this was just the battery in the fob so have replaced that, but nothing happens? the LED doesn't flash when I press the button either :bang:

Any ideas?
