Eee, it seems like only yesterday.....actually it was, wasn't it? Where the hell did the last 40 years go?

I did own a Ronson Firefly lighter, and an SCM portable typewriter. I can remember my Mum having one of the hairdryers in that catalogue as well.

Actually, the '70s are still here, sort of.

Check out the car radios with the mechanical push buttons for the wavebands! I recognise several of those! In fact I had most of them (the cheap ones!)
It was around that time that the first VCR's came out.

Have a good chortle at the Fidelity, Decca and Sharp "Music Centres". They really were awful but they were the first units to put all the functions of turntable, radio and cassette together in a modern unit. The Japanese blew them away very shortly after this with Hitachi, Sony, JVC, Pioneer etc. Especially with their "separates" units.
Note the prices though. Approx £200 was probably about 4x the average weekly wage at the time. Think how much cheaper things are now in this category!
