Remap and Insurance

Hey guys,

Might be a silly question but i'm guessing a remap will considerably boast your insurance premium?

If so does anyone have an example of how much it increased by?

Can a remap be tracable by the insurance company?

For engine swap, remap and head work and camshfts on my insurance. At 21 with 8 points i will pay just short of a grand quid for next years insurance with no NCB. Would be 670 without mods declared.
I would just ring and ask tbh.

nobody declares them, they could trace but i'd imagine they'd have to go through fiat if they suspected anything.

but that wasnt the question, only way to find out is call 'em as it often depends on the way the winds blowing

I declared mine on a JTD and it changed nothing. Go onto a comparison website and do a quote with/without engine modifications and see what the damage is.

it will hurt you most if you are a young driver or with low NCB.

And some insurance companies won't touch you! Just bear that in mind. Less compitition etc.
