Red Master Key

I have recently bought a Bravo. I have the Red Master Key and tried it out to see if it worked. Well it unlocked the door started the car - but the orange 'CODE' light stayed lit on the dash (it normally goes out when using the blue key). Is this correct?

Geoff,I've just tried the red key in my Marea JTD and the code light does stay on,so it I reckon it is meant to be like that-but I don't know why!As long as it works-that'll do for me!

Red key

Hi there

the code light will stay on because the Red key is not the key you want to be starting your car with. It's the programming key for the blue ones.

You turn the key (but don't start it), to open up the system, switch off, put in blue key (must do 2 blue keys at one time), do the same, put in ked key and close system down.

I just had my ECU recoded for the keys and when I tried it with my newly coded master key it done the same.
