Robracer said:It's funny you say that because with my previous Marea 1.9TD, my local Fiat dealer needed the Red Key, when the fuel pump fuse blew and that locked down the ECU, that little fuse and a diagnostic with labour cost me £210.00.
So that will explain why I'm worried about not having a Red key
But what annoys me, is that when I bought the car off Ebay, the garage said yes there is a Red Key, but of course didn't think to try it when testing the car before buying it that day, but now I Know that my Red key to my Marea 2.0 20V is a fake.
Oh well
:bang: Rob
The reason you needed your red key for the above is because the fuel pump is linked to the immobilisor which is built into the ECU.
You've not got a chance of getting a red key for your car, unless the previous owner has it. But besides that you can't get one cut or made. Blue keys however can be cloned, but if your car has an alarm as standard then you wont be able to deactivate the alarm with the new blue key.
