Has anybody got any spare parts from the rear wiper of a Brava.

The piece I am after is the white electrical box that sits on the back of the motor assembly.

This controls the intermittent wipe. At the moment my intermittent isn't working and the wipers stop halfway if you turn them off.

If anyone has one of these please let me know and how much they'd like for it.

Thanks very much

I took off the rear wiper on my Brava (spare of the moment thing, dont ask *lol*)

If i can find it in the garage i will ,email you.

Let me know if you already have one as im a new user here (actually a new fiat owner) so im not sure when this post was created.

Fiat wipers are notorious for failing due to excess grease on the contacts. If you remove the white plastic cover & clean the grease from the contact area, leaving sufficient for the worm & wheel but no more, then its a fair bet your wiper will work perfectly

I did wonder that and cleaned some of the grease off.

Would that problem though cause the wiper to work constantly and not park in the correct position when you turn them off.

Thanks

I've done a Tempra SW (fromt AND rear wipers) & a Tipo. Symptoms were failure to park correctly & jerky operation on intermittent wipe. They worked fine on a dry screen on intermittent 'cos the wiper motor under load draws sufficient current through the contacts to overcome the grease contamination. Use the wipers when the screen is wet ( about 364 days per year here in Wales) & jerks & parking halfway across the screen was the norm.

The contacts ( on Tempra/Tipo anyway) are on the back of the worm wheel, so you have to remove the wheel which is part of the wiper shaft ( just a circlip, or even just held in by a nylon button secured by the gearbox cover). No need really to disturb the electrical connections in the plastic box.

Clean ALL the grease off the contact area, just leaving a smear of electrical contact grease if you have any( not gear grease)on the brass segments , but clean is good if you don't.

It is this parking contact mechanism that confuses the intermittent wipe, plus obviously the parking!, since if the elctronics don't know the wipers have finished a sweep, then they won't give the motor the signal to start the next sweep.

Cheers
