The blade has split on the rear wiper of my punto mk2 sporting. Went to halfords to buy a new wiper. Looked thorugh the book the get the right one and they don't do one, neither halfords own make nor Bosch.

In the booklet in halfords it's blank where the code should be. Don't want to buy just the ru ber blade as it's a pain in the bum to replace and that's why usually buy the whole unit

Any ideas why halfords don't do it?

You probably get one from any car accessory shop for half the price of one at Halfords!

The simplest & obvious thing to do is purchase a rubber insert, closest size if you cant get exact one, cut it down if you have to.

Then its just a matter of threading new rubber on to the old blade, which you have all ready taken off the old split rubber:D simples.

These rear wipers are generally slightly different compared to the front ones. They tend to be expensive as well. They can be a fiddle about for the not clued up brigade:rolleyes: So the easiest & less expensive option is the rubber.

i keep all my split front blades for fitting to the rears once measured up to the old ones
never ever bought a new one :)

The blank box just means its the same as the one above. If you look further up the table, there will be a code (usually 3 letters and 3 numbers) if there are no more in any of the rows of the table below that, it just means that they're all the same to save them printing it a load of times.

It will probably be there, I picked one up the other week (Bosch one I think). If you can't find it on the shelf, just ask some one around the store and they'll check the stock or order it in for you at no extra charge.
