Hi everyone, help!!! Just fitted two new opening rear window seals on my 1988 Panda to cure a water leak, heavy rain today and about 1/2 inch of water in the boot?? Does anyone know if the opening catch can be adjusted to tighten up the seal or any other ideas to cure the leakage.

Check that the catches are secure in the glass, there is a locking ring that can come loose, this means the glass isnt held as tight to the rubber as it should be. Other than that there is no adjustment, are you certain it is coming through the windows and not somewhere else?

Thanks for getting back to me. The latch does seem very slack when released but I couldnt see how to tighten it up, mind you it was chucking it down at the time, any advice would be great.

Yes check your boot seal where it meets the rear clusters - mine comes in there.
You can see it collecting in pools on the top of the seal, then runs down the inner arch and into the boot so I dont think its from the light cluster...

If you look at the catch on the inside where it goes through the glass you will see a ring, this should lock tight to glass to hold the whole thing in place.
Thanks, will have a look in the morning when light, due to be drier tomorrow.

Hi everyone, well, re the water leak from the rear windoes, sussed it. I looked on eper and it looked like the join had to be on rear downward seal halfway up, did that, hence water pissing in. Removed seals, placing the join on the bottom edge, and hey ho, no water leaks, sorted. I should of course have thought this through but should anyone else replace their rear window seals, make sure the join is on the bottom edge...
