Maplin the electronics store used to sell conductive silver paint for repairing window elements. The trick was to locate the break, clean with alchohol ,put a line of tape each side, then paint over the gap in the element. Worked quite well.
Where do you get it now?

Well.... The dealer couldnt do anything for mine short of replacing the whole screen.

YAH that's it- order code N36BA - electrically conductive silver paint. Use a toothpick as a paintbrush. Do a layer, let it dry. Needs about two or three thin layers.

I brought my car at the end of last winter so i have only just used the heated rear window to find 4 bars are broken :bang: The conductive paint is a great idea except i had the windows tinted in the summer so i would have to have the rear one removed and done all over again :cry:Not a happy bunny i can tell you.

once you have applied a few thin coats apply a thin coat of matt black heat resisting paint over it otherwise you will see it sparkle in your rear view every time a car comes towards you at night....

Scratch doing it myself. After discussion with the dealer, who has been great (woodleigh chesterfield), we are going to replace the screen under 3rd year of the warranty. Just need to complete the transfer form.
