Good evening all.
I recently bought an 07 Grande Punto and noticed my rear washer isn't working. Upon inspection I noticed a strong smell of antifreeze in my boot and pulled up the lining and noticed a wet patch in the top left corner of the boot, so the washer hose must be split around here. How do I get to it in this part of the car and repair or replace the hose? My Haynes manual seems to make no mention of the hose itself.

Thank you and kind regards,

Adam

MOST probably broken in the rubber/flex/cortina hose between body and hatch. You'll have to remove some inner panel to acces the hose which basically runs on the left silt under the trim/carpet.

OK thanks, are they just simple pop on and off panels like the one to change the cabin air filter?

I didn't manage to get a good look today since it was raining all evening and them got dark, but I will give it a look over again tomorrow after work. Thanks again.

IIRC its the rear passenger side pabel that has to come off.
I fixed mine by using some fishtank air line and an air line connector from my local pet shop.
HTH..

Do you mean behind the seat in the boot or the panel where the rear doors would be if it was a 5 door model? Mine is a 3 door Active Sport model if that helps. Thank you for the help.

OK so under further inspection the water is pooling in this corner, I found no piping underneath panelling in these areas. Any idea where to look? Thanks in advance.

Edit:my pictire won't upload but it's the bottom left side, closest to the boot opening basically.

IIRC you have to remove the rubber strip to access it.. it runs across the top of the rear screen to the nozzle in the rear high brake light unit.
This unit unclips too..

OK so I have found where the pipe has split, it is completely severed inside the rubber tubing between the boot lid and body of the car in the top left corner, so now I need to repair that. Heat shrink should do right?

Thank you all so much for your help so far.

No it wont..I already told you how I fixed it..I used one joint and a single length of air line between it to the fitting on the jet. Cost me about £1.50

Will I have to replace the entire hose from the pump to the jet at the back? Or can I go from where it is cut to the jet? Thanks.

I would cut the line back a bit if your able then use the connector to the connect the new airline ..probs around 3 or 4 ft.

No you won't, cut it a bit further toward the body, even in the rear pillar if you can, so the join is away from the sensitive area and run the new pipe up to the sprinkler.
Shrink tube? : won't work, think about why it broke there; might be during winter: twisting (opening boot) an iced pipe could weaken it ...
