Technical Rear seat jamming - wont lift back up

This is the second time this has happened ...

After putting my back seats down to get something big in the boot I went to pull the larger (2/3 sized) seat back up and it wouldn't lift up beyond about 1/4 of the way up.

Eventually I discovered that it was the middle seatbelt that was stopping it lifting up, the belt wouldnt pull out at all, and it sounded like it was jamming like it does when you pull on it suddenly.

The first time I took it back to the dealer and he undid the belt from the bottom and then the seat lifted up fine. Then reattached the belt.

Now i have had the seats down a few times since with no trouble but today it did the same thing, managed to get the bolt holding it undone myself but really need to find out why its doing it and stop it, as its a real pain in the arse!

Well there's not really much to see really.

Just imagine you have had your back seats down and are going to lift them back up and something stops it at about 25% of the way up.

At this point u can actually feel the seat-belt in the middle tighten, and its this 'jamming' that is stopping it from lifting up.

Hi, Had the same problem. told the dealer (vospers Plymouth) about it on the first service and they replaced it under the warranty, seems fine now.

than may i suggest that you have another person in the hood area (removed self) in order to see what is happening from the rear of the seat.i imagine that the seatbelt holder needs relocation.
