Hi all, I've recently traded my Picasso for a Ulysse Dynamic and so far I am very impressed.

The car has a blank on the third row driver's side armrest for a cigarette lighter. Would the wiring loom be present inside the armrest ready to connect or will I need to route some cable?

If it is not there, where would the easiest place for tapping into the +12v be? I wouldn't mind even if it wasn't ignition controlled as my son's DVD player will be unplugged whenever it is not in use.

Also, are the circles underneath the air vents feeding the second row of seats by the door meant for accessory sockets in higher spec models? (and if so, would looms be present for them?)

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Mine is a 2.2 JTD Eleganza November 2003 (53) and the rear cigarette lighter was not connected. The wiring was there and it was sorted under warranty as it should have been connected. My car was also supposed to come with a 12 V socket at the base of the drivers seat but it was not present and according to Fiat this option had been removed. The circles under the air vents could be for electric windows and the button for opening the rear doors if you have the electric option, not available on the Dynamic model to the best of my knowledge.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to work out how to get the third row arm rest off now to have a look.

I have some unconnected looms under the driver's seat, could they be the ones for the under seat socket you speak of? I'll dig out my multimeter and see what is what when I'm plumbing in the Playstation for our upcoming trip to France.

I never got any joy out of Fiat to find out whether the wiring was actually present or not. The unconnected looms could be for a number of things. CD Player which if factory fitted was fitted between the seats. Also the electric seats for movement and heating.

Ah right, I have the factory CD changer between the seats (soon to be taken out and sold with the headunit as I have either a DVD or an MP3 headunit to put in - decisions, decisions!)

I have put a 3 way cig lighter extension in the cubby under the steering wheel today to feed the satnav and the USB mobile phone adapter. I'm going to run a further 3-way from that to unerneath the driver's seat for the three headrest DVD players and will run the power inverter directly off the battery for the Playstation 2.

If I get time then I might plumb in the third row cig lighter. I just need to work out how to get the panel off first!

Cheers for the help.
