Would I be able to fit the exhaust from my 750 to my CLX without any problems? I've got a crack just before the back box on the CLX(n)

If you have a look at the ebay ad I pasted onto post 9 you'll see that 750 and 999 tailpipes are the same between '85 to 92', so with your CLX being a 93 I'd say that it wouldn't fit. I'm guessing that mid 92 on used a bigger bore when inj. came in. Hopefully, someone can say for certain.

Hmm, I will have to investigate tomorrow, could it be that the earlier injection ones with the CAT in the manifold like mine have the same exhaust as carb models after the CAT?
certainly won't be the same at the front end as the mani on mine is a 4 into 2 so the centre pipe is a twin at the front with a y joint just behind the gearbox. Now I'm not familiar with the cat in manifold design but unless you have two really tiny cats - kittens if you will -the exit from the manifold must be a single pipe and considerably further along. Back box could be the same but centre certainly won't be.

like these guys, look, there's even pipe diameter measurements!

That's weird...my 93 clx has the cat further along the pipe after the first join (similar to a Cinq. Sporting)

There were two types of injection system, Bosch and Webber, the Bosch system was from late 92 to early 93 and had the CAT straight after the manifold like the one in the diagram and then from early 93 onwards the Webber system was used which had the CAT further along like on your CLX.

Got a new box fitted today for £58.75. Glad I didn't try to do it myself though as the old pipe was completely seized on.
wimp:p had to get mine apart last week and it was no bother at all! can't have been hammering and chiselling and swearing at the dam thing for more than a couple of hours:mad:..before I broke my manifold putting it all back together.
Actually you were probably right there.
Andrew.

Anyone thought about fitting a Y10 turbo back box?

I have one on my Y10 with a standard 999cc front pipe. They are joined using some Jetex reducers and a length of pipe from a standard back box to get over the rear axle.

There are some available on Ebay

Just got a 2" stainless centre section made today to join the Punto 75 down pipe to the Y10 Turbo back box. Sounds great.

Will get some pics on tonight if anyone is interested.

Cheers

Dave
