Hi Guys,

I know a few people have created a rear ARB by cut'n'shutting a front MGF one but i got round to thinking what if there is a car of similar size and weight to the cinq that an arb could come off.

With this in mind i as walking down the street when a smart car passed by. Now these little things have Front and rear ARB's it is just whether or not they will be big enough to get to the necessary points for the cinq.

the biggest question is however would it be requiring the front or rear ARB off one?

From my research the rear arb is 14mm
And there is a choice of 18.5 or 21mm fronts.

What is the thickness of the mgf ones?

Looking at Aaron's posts the mgf is a 19mm might try the 21 as it is a track car and no longer really used on the road so doesn't matter too much if its tail happy.

I sold a 1.4 16v Lupo sport recently that had a Whiteline ARB kit fitted (adjustable)....

I removed the bar to sell, however by giving it a good look over, i think it could easily be modded for a sei...

Thought about keeping it at the time for my future sei conversion, but needed the cash....

They go on the second hand market for approx £100, and about £120-140 new (inc poly bushes)

Yep, looks like it will fit. The description as "adjustable" over eggs it a bit. I think you can only adjust for ride height, rather than strength/stiffness.

From what i remember on the lupo it had 3 holes each side to move the bar forward or backwards on the car... Apparently stiffness levels...

Spec from the site...

More grip = better handling = outright performance - it's the best pound for pound handling improvement you can make to your vehicle. This Whiteline adjustable sway bar allows its rate to be altered by increasing or reducing the length of the lever arms. This permits the roll stiffness to be tuned for different situations without replacing the entire bar. The stiffer the bar, the more force required to move the left and right wheels relative to each other. This increases the amount of force required to make the body roll

Cornering loads are spread more evenly across the tyres delivering more grip and frankly, that’s what it’s all about. You also get improved tyre wear as your tyres stay flatter and more upright. Comfort improves because your car sits flatter through bends meaning less movement inside the vehicle. Whiteline swaybars are manufactured using the finest grade spring steel. They are powder coated and supplied with high performance polyurethane mounting bushes in a DIY kit form, ready to simply bolt on

The lupo do use a different suspension setup so might take some tweaking. I have an mgf one on mine only done about a 1000 miles since rebuilding the car but the difference is astonishing car handles flat cant wait to see what its like with more power and being on track. It's in it's very early stages but I'm currently looking at putting a rear beam from a mk1 punto it's 5cm too long so needs shortening its a better setup IMO and it has a RARB as standard

You got any pics? Stealing ideas for mine in the next few months :p

Think if i can get one cheap enough i'll buy one.

Sei16v, does the kit comes with drop links?

Whiteline should really do a kit for the cento!!!! A group buy of 15-20 should be easy?

Thanks
Ming

Yea comes with the drop links and longer bolts as they bolt through the bottoms of the shocks/arms on a lupo.

Link for a kit is here (fast link, ive seen cheaper)....

Not had one up against a sei so you may have to research it a bit, but i cant see it being far off...
