Really quick insurance question

I'm thinking of putting myself on my step dads insurance while my car is getting fixed, bit of a problem using my mums, as she needs it for my brother.

If I get added, use it while my car is getting fixed, is it OK to cancel my policy on there within the 14 days? Would it just be admin fees taken?

If you was the policy holder Then that is probably right. Unless in those 14 days you manage to make a claim.
But if you're just adding yourself as a named driver would it not just be worth giving them a date you want it to end, then pay you step dad the extra the company will charge.

You can also have more than one named driver on a policy, so going on your mum's shouldn't be an issue

Mum has got a open policy on her car, anyone with her (or step dads) permission can drive it, if they don't have any points, so don't need to get added for that .
