going jap :)

got a liking for the evo 4 gsr's now,
especially in blue :)
been doing some research and a standard power of 280bhp with 5 doors and a big boot and good looks seem good to me :) once the missus has passed wll be getting a lil 3 door diesel to plot around in and poss for her to use too.

going jap is a good idea but you loose that gorgeous styling of italian cars.

but you gain reliability i went jap and have never looked back but dont get me wrong still love looking at italian cars and love the way they sound

Mate, i have been eyeing up evo's and scooby's for years (also have nearly bought a brand new scooby 3 times now) i nearly got a scooby when i was 23 but me and the wife decided to sell our flat and buy a house instead which menat no money for scooby, then i took a redundancy 7 years ago and with teh redundancy money was going to buy a top spec sti (got a very genrous payout) which meant i would only need to finance 6k but then we found out we were expecting, the scooby dealer was very understanding and gave me my deposit back after waiting for 3 months, then the third time i was going to get a a new wrx they were doing adeal on new for 18k with the big spoiler and the sti headlights this was 4 years ago and then we decided to move again so any spare money went into the house, and now i a, trying ti build up my savings again, i have 3 kids now and my wife hasn't worked for 6 years so as soon as she goes back to work i will be on the hunt again but i will go for the new scooby hatch or saloon if i can get the funds together but 1 thing is for sure.... The wagon will always stay!

ive just had a classic scooby turbo mike, kept my bravo mind, but good god them things are amazin, the power is so good, the drive iz well good too, ive drove the evo's but never owned 1 as yet,

you know the sayin watch this space lol

Gona have to look into it mate cos at mo aint got 2.5-4k knockin about for one :/
I do want one now but might not be this year so its gona have to wait, but either way the fiat and focus will be goin to fund most of the cash for one.

And cheers for the heads up guys about the reliabilty of them, dont get me wrong i do like italian cars such as the lambo countach (in black like my model :) and the classic f40! And most of the new ones lol

i knew it wouldn't be long before you considered buying one! haha. The car you get is well worth the money o the earlier GSR's!

my mate has a 6 in met grey and looks nice, ive always liked the 6's..ive been browsing and toy'in with the idea for ages tbh, just recently ive thought sod it,when i can afford to,im gona get one :)

Id love to turbo my car,its different to any bravo round my nek of the woods and having a turbo under the bonnet will be even better too..BUT for sake of £1600 (800 for a donor car w/o mot etc and 800 for the conv) and 220bhp,i can save that cash and put it into something else, something that has 2 things that me and the missus really need,5 doors and a boot :) not to mention the extra power that comes with it hehe

Seriously buying a second car, Citroen C2 1.4 HDI to bum around in and commute with, will save £5+ a day on the commute. (80mpg)

Keep the HGT, i get to drive my flatmates BMW M5 '51 reg. You realize its nice yeh but why, unnescessary power, RWD traction control 155mph on the way to Brighton all day long.

But its 'too much' to be interesting.

Its nicer to have a 155 HGT sleeper, with the suprechip it's closer to the R32 than the Golf GTI, nice noise, comfy, good match to the scooby's round here, and rare as hens teeth.

My brother strayed away from Italian cars in a moment of madness and bought a Scooby! He said it was an awesome bit of kit and yes, very reliable. But he hated the stigma associated with them and sold it on. I agree with the too much power argument too (unless it's a street sleeper). I have had several obviously quick cars (Integrale 16v, Coupe 20vt) and no one wants to play cos they know they are quick! Plus I found myself travelling at license destroying speeds, more often than not. That's why I decided to go a bit more practical and get a diesel (totally went against the grain) and even tho I've played with it and it goes like stink, I don't feel the need to floor it everywhere lol. The power is there when I want some fun and I get 40+ mpg so all in all I'm happy...for now!!

I can only hope for 40MPG
Ive hit 160mph+ on the M23 (limiter kicked in) at night in the M5, Hills are like speed bumps at that speed, i agree speed for speed sake isn't that fun,
id prefer a drag escort or austin A30, something that will go 2 wheels with parachutes.

Always thought EVO's/Scoobys are nice, worth a punt, until you're sitting at the lights, all shouty, with everyone staring at you, all day everyday, no backing away. And they're gonna have mudflaps/spoilers etc look like rally cars.

Infinite money id have a CL63 AMG
