RE: Unattached Bonett Catch! Please Help

Hi

Sorry to be a nuicance, just wondering if anyone could help. I own a Fiat Brava 1.6 2001, and the red catch which releases the bonett has come loose and is not attached anymore, can anyone tell me how (if it is possible) to reattach it, or if it is an expensive job for a Fiat dealer to do?

Thanks in advance!

Martin

Had this on a Punto, get your head in the footwell, look up, you'll see the cable with the lug thing on the end coming down, and you should see where the catch locates/hinges.

On the Punto the bit where the catch hinges from had broken, so my father in law just keeps the lever in the glove box and hooks it onto the lug bit and pulls whenever he needs the bonnet open.

Sorry - never bothered to look too closely at the amount of work/cost of bits for it.

I'm assumin you mean the handle under the bonnet when you want to open it. If so i think its only a few pound from fiat. Obviously the red handle has a base and pivots to unrelease the bonnet so just use your head if its the pivot pin thats missing or the handle itself it may just be cheaper to fit a new one.

Or could be that catch, not sure the imnternal release on the Punto in question is red, really can't remember what colour the bonnet end is.

The bonnet end on my 2000 1.6 Brava is black, and the internal handle is grey.

Very random.
