Just had a call from my dealer. Apparently Ulysses are no longer sent out with setup discs, as a wrong command can 'screw up the system'.
He's asked me to return the one I sent him.

Another point, if I took the car back to the dealer and asked him to reprogramme using the latest disk [think mine is 5.31, will need to check], would the screen then be able to used for a DVD. Only Keggers has his working! I know Felix mentioned can/van wiring, or something, but dealer knows nothing.

Help!

Stu

Stu, unfortunately I don't have the screen working, like the rest of you I'm hoping it might be a later software upgrade although I'd be frightened to let my dealer near it!

Hi!

Must have misunderstood an earlier one of yours. Thought you got a DVD from Aldis and all up and running on the screen. I think you said it was all in the instruction book as well, but mine just says nothing!

Oh well. Here's hoping!

Listen up the lastest setup disc is not given to the customers because its a programming disc as weel. This means that this disc is also used to reset all data and rewrite all emmproms inside the connect system. If this is done wrong it can damage the connect system beyond repair. Thats why you do not get it. Also screen only works if the main dealer has set it up in the body computer to have a games system installed as far as i know..???? Through the van1(Vehicle area Network speed 1)/Van2 (Vehicle area Network speed 2)

Hi,

Is that why you are called FiatExpert, FiatExpert? Even I am astounded by your knowledge - I don't even dare phone up my dealer to ask about this van1/van2 system - he will have no idea!?! They have enough trouble knowing what the Ulysse comes with as standard.

Stuart

Hi,

My dealer thought the Ulysse was made by Citroen :).

Only kidding, but they did think it was made in Italy.

Hey, my dealer thought the same thing! Made in Italy - it is 'Italian Flair and Styling' was another comment made - no mention of the French then!
