Hi, i got an uncoded key cut for my fiat punto. Thing is, it dont open the door!! is this some sort of thing because it is uncoded? thanks for any help!

coding doesnt affect the lock mechanism.how did you 'get' this key?
do you mean in the lock or via remote locking?

i got a key off ebay and then cut at a local locksmith, who said the key was a fiat key. It just doesnt turn in the keyhole lock

does your original work? put the 2 along side and compare the teeth.
if it doesnt work it could be down to the cutting.also you could get a cloned key from timpsons for about £30 which has the code as well

teeth are the same! original works. do timpsons clone w reg car keys? thanks for ur help, very much appriciated

there must be some difference as if there wasnt it would work.theres nothing hugley technical. if its not turning then its not lifting all of the teeth in the lock barrel

often cut keys need to be took back for a little bit morte filing

does it open when you wiggle it? my uncle has to wiggle his key to get in his car cos it is a rubbish cut key.

should get a better key as it will wear down the keepers in the lock

i sanded down the key abit, and it manages to only open the driver side door, but not lock it. But yeh i will take it bak to file it down a bit.
