Hi,

My t reg mk1 punto 60s has developed a rattling sound when the clutch pedal is fully depressed. It appears to be coming from somewhere in the engine/gearbox (i.e. it doesn't appear to be an exhaust issue) and is present whether I'm in gear or not and dissapears when i release the clutch pedal (again not connected to whether it is in gear or not).

Any ideas what this could be?

This has developed over the last day and i have not noticed any other difficulties other than it occasionally been difficult shifting down into 2nd gear for the last few weeks. this doesn't however seem like a major issue to me as it isn't every time i change gear.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll probably take it down to the garage on monday morning but it'll at least put my mind at rest if someone is able to suggest something before then!

Thanks,

M@

How much would it cost to replace the Clutch as mine does the same now and again, When i press the clutch in it's a little stiff at First then i have to press hard to change gear, Then on the odd occasion it will squeak and cry out loud,

Is this a clutch
gear box or something else failure, lol I am spending £445 to get the head and other bits repaird can go forking out more on clutch too.

HELP!!!
