Technical Rattling From Underneath

When I first start my car in the morning I get a rattle from underneath. anyone have any ideas?

Had the rack done but they haven't tracked it right so it's back in on Fri to get rid of the wheel wobble from 40-50

Hi. My car was in for this (and other things) last week. It only does it when started from cold and sounds like something hitting the exhaust maybe. The dealer said it was one of the handbrake cables which had come out of its securing clip and was "now fixed". Following morning i started the engine and - same noise :bang:. I didnt think it was the handbrake cables coz noise is from the front and cables are at the rear. Let me know wot u think.

And mine mentioned it when it was in for service and they said they couldn't find a fault although it has curiously stopped (for now)

Yup mine does the same, initially they said it was the steering rack but they changed that and it's still doing it.

So at least we know it's not the brake wires or the sterring rack now lol:bang:

Cool will mention it to dealer.

So now I got wheel balancing (I think) after they fitted the rack as I've got wheel wobble at 40-50mph.

mine sounds like a loose heat shield so it could be that but why only from cold

Would have thought it would have rattled all the time but I'll check as it might be an easy fix.

Just have to wait for the rain to go off now

Just out of interest why don't fiat join it to a proper intake on the front grille

Ah yeah you got the induction kit.

Is the stability bar the same as the anti-roll bar. If it is I'll get me missus to start it while I hold onto it, see if it stops it.

Now if only the rain would stop, so I can polish the car some more.

Missus won't run me over I'm not insured

no its flat bar that runs almost directly under the sump.

If you dont have life insurance then you will be perfectly safe from missus...its when you have life insurance you have to be careful.......

Let her walk down the stairs first!
Dont believe her when she says its perfectly safe to switch on light socket with wet hands.
Dont let her work on your brake pipes no matter her qualifications.
Sleep with at least one eye open.
Buy take away food...dont let her cook!
Getting that pet tiger wasn't a good idea as its sleeps on your side of the bed.
Has she brought a new kitchen knife set recently?

souds like a good bet as the engine vibration or 'throw' is greatest on a cold start.
