General Rapid flashing engine management light

Just read an artical about the Marelli ecu fitted to stilos. it said that if you get a rapid flashing EM light but no fault code and the car drives normally all you have to do is:
1,bring the car to normal running temp
2,rev the car passed 4000 revs and back to idle 4 times
3,light should go out.

this works by realigning the fuel injectors.

That's the phonic wheel learn process. Who said it "realigns the injectors"?

However the EML flashing can also signify a serious misfire which can damage the catalyst.
