RAM upgrade

Well, here I am, struggling with the basics again..

I am using my wife's Dell Latitude 5400 for work, but it is really struggling to run everything that I need. So, I was intending to upgrade from 2gb to 4gb, but I'm unsure of what I need to buy.
I found this site which states:

If you would like to purchase a 'kit of 2' modules (a guaranteed MATCHED PAIR) for dual channel mode, click the 'Add to Basket' button and change the quantity to 2​

So I don't know which option I actually need to order to get the thing up to 4gb.

Advice? Please?

do you have 2x1gb or 1x2gb already fitted?
if you have 1x2GB already,then you could fit another stick of 2gb
though it may not be 'matched'
if you have 2x1gb,then you neeed 2x2gb

Checked that page, in short click add to basket for 1x2gb of RAM and then change quantity to 2 to get 4gb

You will get 2 ram modules (2 sticks of RAM) and there will be at least 2 slots for RAM in your laptop. 2 x 2gb sticks = 4gb RAM

Just be aware you won't get full use of 4GB if you are running a 32bit OS.

If your running vista or 7 you'd get much more benefit with an SSD.
