Took part in a single venue rally at Manby in Lincolnshire last Saturday co-driving in a 1300cc Fiat Uno. We had a trouble free day (apart from a huge 2 wheeling moment over a apair of lorry tyres) and eventually managed to win the class and come home with a nice trophy. We even managed to beat a very special nova which was fitted with throttle bodies and motor bike carbs.I usually co-drive in a Mitsubishi Evo5 so I didnt know what to expect from a class 1 car, but I was very surprised with the braking and handling of the Uno.
If anyone can PM with details on how to post a picture i will post a couple of good ones.
Is there anyone else out there who uses a Fiat of anykind for rallying.....

Sounds like you had a good time :) You can upload your pics in 2 ways - via your gallery or attaching them to the post.

To upload in your gallery:
1- Click "upload photos" thats on the far right of the menu bar.
2- Put in the path to the pictures you wish to upload.
3- Click upload/Submit
4 - Wait for the next screen to come up (if you've uploaded more than one at a time), and click ok or whatever on that screen.
5 - Then look at the picture you want to attach look under teh Additional Info bar for the UBB code. Copy and paste this into the post and it will automatically display the picture.

To attach to your post:
1- When making your post normally, scroll down a bit and click teh button manage attachements.
2 - Put in the path to the file you want to attach and click upload.
3- wait for it to attach, then you're ready to rock n roll :D

There is a rally formula, Formula 1000 for cars under 1000cc. It's main aim is for people to be able to rally without incurring huge costs. Have an ask on their forum, they're very nice there (y)

Nice to see you got a MK2 front end on a MK1, but what happened to the Oil cooler grill – it is a turbo

Dont really know a great deal about the car as it isnt the car I usually compete in and I only got the co-drivers job at short notice.
I can tell you that it is NOT a turbo as it would have to run in a higher class.

Really enjoyed my days "work" in the Uno and may get an other ride in the future. My next event is back in the Evo5 in Clipstone Forest at the end of the month.

Awsome, congratulations, my friends do the formual 1000 the black pug 106 in photos, also red, white, green micra lives near me.

I may be purchasing a fiat uno race set up mk1, was used for rallying so i could race it or perhap try rallying. My dad used to race in the fiat uno series really good fun watching them :)

Lovely looking uno by the way :)

Here i be;

Good to see another Uno out there rallying.

There are a few 1300's left rallying, from the CCC (old car magazine) Fiat Challenge, running twin 40's, rally spec cam, slipper diff's etc...

I have a spare rally spec engine avilable for sale, anyone interested can PM me. Not looking for a lot of cash, more the space in my garage, for other engines :)

Finished yet another rally and Gymkhana now in my 999cc FIRE engined Uno. Yesterday i came 38th O/A, leaving 15 other people asking and wondering how they were beaten y a 1 litre Uno and 10th in class (up to 1.4) out 16 in the class.

I will hopefully be out doing some of the F1000 rounds next year, so hope to see people out there. If you want to know how to start rallying try the british rally forum on www.britishrally.co.uk
