Hej.
I am thinking of replace the radio in my fiat punto frech from 2009, I am thinking on this model JVC cd usb bluetooth it stans that it is for fiat grande punto 2004-2010, is it posible to use this radio without changing some vireing. I hope that someone can advice me.

Your car will be using CANbus to send digital signals around the car for control of most functions. The wiring to the standard radio will therefore differ from older vehicles.
Where an older vehicle would have up to eight wires to the power plug, CANbus vehicles have four. A live feed, an earth, and two data wires. It is very important not to connect those data wires to an analogue head unit. An interface needs to be plugged in between the car and head unit, similar to this: https://connects2.com/Product/ProductItem/UNI-SWC.2 That one may not be the best for your car, so research carefully.
The interface interprets the CANbus signals and changes them to analogue feeds to the aftermarket head unit. This most importantly gives an ignition controlled feed, but also gives a lighting signal to make the radio display dim when the car's lights are on, and a speed signal, for when the new radio increases volume with speed. There's also a reverse signal, useful for satnav devices.
Not as difficult to fit as it may look. Main problem may be finding enugh space behind the unit to put the interface and wiring.

Thanks for the replay, my old radio has steeringweel controle, must I then have a canbus boks, to this new radio it have also steeringweel control?, the fiat is from 2009.
sincerely
Svend.

You need a CANbus box, as wiring it separately is messy, having to take a feed from the 12v socket for example. A Canbus box can be selected that will also interpret the steering wheel controls, but may need an extra cable to connect to the new radio, specific to the new radio.
You'll need to have a good look around the website in my link to select the best interface. If you have any local car radio specialist, they'll have the answers.
