General Radio Fault

Have a 59 Plate 1.4 GP Grande Punto

Since I got the car haven't been able to use the radio properly. The AM frequency gets no signal and the FM tuner continously drops or searches.

The dealer had a look at it and claimed it isnt faulty and is due to "weak" signal.

Given no-one else has this problem I know I am a bit cynical.

Anyone any ideas as to the source of the fault and a potential solution.

Could be a problem with the antenna on the roof/broken connection.

You could try fitting an after market head unit if that still has weak signal then you know it is definatly something to do with the arial. if it works fine then you can go back to fiat and say you want a new head unit or just keep the after market one, they produce much better sound quality and if you get an ipod one you can stop useing that ****y blue and me system that never worked on my car.

Would be cheaper to try an after-market aerial first surely. Or cheaper still, a meter of wire in the aerial socket.
