Punto (Mk2/2b) Radiator hose clamp

Does anyone know how to open this clamp on my radiator hose. I have attached 3 pictures of the same clamp.

Hi Special tool needed..

You can break the large clip holding the pinched.up band..

Remove hose.. then fit a new conventional hose clamp

Same as this, just break it off with a pair of pliers and put a normal jubilee clip in it's place. Measure the pipe first so you can get the correct sized jubilee clip first before you make the car undriveable!
The other hose in the third picture has what looks like a jubilee clip on it.

To clarify..

The factory clamp is a large loop

It is pinched tight in 1 place.. and a steel piece is closed around this pinched section to keep it tight

If you prise off the steel clamp.. the loop can then be relaxed

And the hose wriggled over the barbs of the tubular fitting.

I find it easier to get a hacksaw and carefully cut through the clamp
paying attention not to damage the hose.

If you have a small bladed screwdriver with a long handle it is relatively easy to jam it in the side with a bit of brute force so you work it in and open up that clamping thing on the outside that holds the clip together.

Access will be the determining factor..

Ive used A saw once.. because the crimped part of clip was hidden

But I prefer slackening the pinched part if possible
.. virtually zero chance of hose damage
