General quick question for a punto know it all :)

just bought a mk3 punto with a dented wing just wondered if a mk2 one would fit also if side skirts from a mk2 thanks guys

atticus on here did a mk2 - mk2b conversion and i think he had to modify the wings a bit to make them fit, the bolting points were slightly different i would imagine.

skirts are a straight fit i think

while im in the mood to be annoying are the lowering springs the same on a mk2 also anyone know wat other make of vehicle have the same wheels fitments thanks alot matt

im pretty sure lowering springs are universal between all mk2 and mk2b, as the shocks are. bought mine from someone with an 8v and put them on my sporting.

Are you DEFINATE that its a Mk3 ... not a Mk2b cuz my dealer told me that i had a Mk3 ... came on here made a name 1 yr later found out i got a Mk2b lmao. I take it your cars foreign ??

mk2b and mk3 are the same thing, just different ways of saying it. the official name is mk2b as it was just a facelift model of the mk2.

mk2b is the end of the punto line then it went to grande puntos using mk3 could confuse people thinking it was the grande punto

Or anywhere in the world for that matter.

As said above it went:

Mk1
Mk2
Mk2B

The Mk2B is wrongly referred to as an Mk3 on occasion but it is an Mk2.

And in answer to the original question: No you can't swap the wings. The whole front end is different on the two models. the headlights for starters are 100% different so the wings would not fit in with them.

Let alone all the other bits....

well ive lowered my car 35mm and looks rather nice if i say so myself im now looking for some 17" for it seen a few on here with them so just wondered if they catch the arches or the inner wings thankyouu :slayer:

The only difference between the mk2 and mk2b are cosmetics, structurally they are the same.
So suspension etc will be straight swap.

As for wings etc you can only use mk2 wings if you have mk2 lights and bumpers and mk2b wings if you have mk2b lights and bumpers.

Well its your money, if you lowered 50mm 15" would be fine. But 16" would look alot better on how much youve lowered.
