hello, now a proud owner of one of these smashing cars!. in college tho you get the idiots in theyre corsas.... enough said haha , so im looking for some cheap-ish parts. a nice intake system would be a great start. i refuse to have a big loud exhaust on it as i just had to buy a brand new standard one. is theyre anyway of a new manifold and would it do much ? iv heard on 4-2-1 port manifold and was wondering if something like this would be benifical ? and anyother ideas would be grand!!! please can i have some help :( ???:worship:

i know what you mean about college what size engine do you have i its a 1108 sporting you should try punto 75 camshaft, 40mm tricker throttlebody, 421 mani, decat, ecu chip, and maybe port and polished head but first do ll the servicing new belt oil filter etc and dont forget the cooling side of things (y)

Without intending to be rude, all the answers you seek are on the forum already if you just do a search. Have a look in the Member's Motors section too, to see what other people have done to theirs and give you some ideas of what's been done before.
Bottom line with these cars is that if you can think of it, someone's already done it. Once you know what you want to do, and how much money you're willing to spend (as you can quite easily spend thousands if you're not careful!) then we can give advice on fitting, etc.
Remember as well that none of these cars are exactly spring chickens, so more often than not a full service will make it feel better, especially if service history is unknown.

Happy cento'ing!

thanks for that and i know but this whole forum confuses me i only just learnt how to post something, seeing all the mods others have made its all to costly iv just purchased a ram air intake and just had a heart attack at 263 quid for a manifold!! not only that i thought posting would maybe let me get the chance to buy parts of others say theyre upgrading cos there over 18 and get more than £30 for a whole days work. thanks for your help anyway :)

Seems like to be honest you'd be better off not spending your money on upgrades which are only going to hike your insurance costs up then :(

FYI, a manifold on it's own isn't really going to make any appreciable difference and ideally needs to be coupled to a decent exhaust system, and porting the head would be excellent too. But again that's a lot of money that it sounds like you can't afford and the insurance increase wouldn't make it worthwhile in your case. Just keep it serviced, stick to the schedule, and laugh when your college friends Corsa's blow up due to poor maintenance and your Fiat keeps going because you look after it (y)

thanks and yeah your probibaly right haha what about leads and plugs ? maybe spening a fair whack on them be worth it and just stick to standerd ones ?

Just remember everything you stick on your car needs declaring to the insurance, if you dont and you happen to have a crash your insurance will be null and void which would then make you wonder why you forked out so much for it in the first place.

On the note of Cats (not the cute furry things) you will need to have a cat on your car in order to pass an MOT regardless weather its within the the emissions limits.

If you want to you could add a sports cat, in which case you should think about an entire exhaust system to actually benefit from it, then you should consider an induction system to make it worth while.

With all this in mind you'll be paying out the nose for insurance, my Cinq costs me quite a lot and its my second car! (which also does bugger all miles)

I would recommend waiting until your closer to 20/21 until you start thinking about modifications. until then insurance companies just rub their hands.
