ok just wondering anyone know where the crank sensor plugs into have found the problem on the seicento :) looks like electrical gremlins been eating the cable so need to remove it can couldnt see the plug for it :D

i know on my cinquecento it plugs in near the water bottle in like a black plug with a little silver bar you push down , and to take it off from the crank end its a 10 mm bolt iirc , would a pic help mate?

hmmm, strange, from the crank sensor, there are 2 wires on this one, a yellow one and a black one that contains 3 other leads. both the yellow and black go into a bigger loom, part of that loom does go onto the plug near the inlet, but they are differnt coloured wires.

need to go around and cut the wires and rewire them see how much different the car sounds and also post a pic of that hidden plug :) unless you have found anything about it mark :D

popped up to the cinq, can't see that plug anywhere on mine, weird, i could have sword i remebered it, that says to me its some sort of emissions control thing, mine has had most of that gubbins ripped out lol

might be connected to your odd rocker cover, the last spis were fitted with those mpi covers, maybe its a soare wire for mpi like the spare bracket/hole on that cover, haha

i have heard elsewhere that the very last spi ones did come out the factory like that. strange.

very possibly, now you mention it, the plug the wire goes onto looks a little different to the cinqs one.

the thing thats really confusing me is why there are 2 wires, the black one is correct, but that yellow one i've never seen before, i wonder if someones put that in to bypass the dodgy wire....hmmmm.

its starting more or less fine, but when the engine starts, it vibrates, its moving the sensors wire and flexing the split in it, causing an erratic signal.

this makes it splutter and occasionally stall of its own free will.

we tested that wire and its definiteley the source of a few gremilins, moving it even with the engine off was causng a relay to go mental, seems to be a large source of issues.

you wouldnt happen to know where the red and yellow striped wire with a wee yellowy plug oe the end goes into? it sits freely next to the firewall, just behind the throttle body on its own and doesnt seem to go anywhere in particular :S

What loom does it comes off ? IS it the main engine loom?

And colour of the wire(s) ?

I'll got the wiring diagram, if is the original wiring.

If is the small plug (one pin) it could go into the oil pressure sensor.

ming

almost certain its off the main loom

wires are red and yellow under a black sheath, and im sure it is a one pin plug, could be a good shout! :)

Daz has a pic of it, will be working on it tomorrow i think, so will check all this out if its still not solved :)

looked like this plug had been off some time tbh, it was filthy, so its seemingly not a totaly critical component to make it run
