A question for 'T'..... Sir, I'm gonna be performing my totally unnecessary 6000 mile oil change on my G. Punto 1.4 16 valve Sporting using Selenia 'Performa' oil and a new Fiat oil filter!
I've also got some engine flush/cleaner and my question to you is that on the instructions they say to pour it into the engine and let the engine tick over for 5 minutes or drive for 50 miles or less....then drain the oil.
If the engine flush is left in too long will it eat into/dissolve/knacker the engine's gaskets/seals? What kind of damage could it potentially do?
I've always been interested to know.......?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Question for 'T' regarding Engine Flush

If it is Forte (but only Forte) you can run it for a week without problems and it will flush out everything. It will not do damage to anything. They have additives that enhance the oil quality.

Some other makes are very agressaive and I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
