When seeing cars being serviced I notice mechanics spend a lot of time in the boot often when the vehicke is raised. I just wondered what mechanics would be found in the boot?
Thanks for that I wonder what are the main areas of the car involved in a sedvice. Just looking to find out what is involved. Also, is it common forcmechanics to take car out forva road test?

From experience, as above - looking for the locknut tool. For God's sake, if you take your car in for work leave it on the seat or somewhere obvious because it saves us looking in every nook and cranny for it. I love going through gloveboxes full of used tissues and Adele cd's looking for them. We have one customer who has a pair of Citroen Picasso's who keeps the locknut tool from one in the other and vice versa - why???? We ring customers who say "Oh, I keep it in the sideboard". Why???? As for a road test, I test every car I do - you'd be supprised at the things I pick up on on a quick run round the block that the customer was unaware of.
