When seeing cars being serviced I notice mechanics spend a lot of time in the boot often when the vehicke is raised. I just wondered what mechanics would be found in the boot?
Trying to find locking wheel but tool ?
the only real service items in the rear luggage compartment;
bulbs ( rear lights)
spare tyre / kit
Fuel pump (in tank)
it's not uncommon if a car is being heavily worked on the put the larger parts in the boot .., out of the way.., but still "with the car",
my son sent a Pug for warranty work and it came back missing parts, as no doubt they'd been "lost" around an 8 car workshop..

Thanks for that I wonder what are the main areas of the car involved in a sedvice. Just looking to find out what is involved. Also, is it common forcmechanics to take car out forva road test?
hi,
engine / gearbox, and brakes are the main service parts.
road tests - depends on what they've done..![]()
