Technical question, converting spi to mpi

ad RC said or you can match the ports on the spi manifold to match the mpi head. it actually works out better due to the larger ports on the mpi head.
The bottom bolts match up but the upper are higher on the mpi so you just use a large washer and it fits perfect.

MY cento had this setup for a while (check out my blog and gallery) but updated to mpi because its better for turbo setup

If it's just a fresher engine you want (or something a little faster, more driveable) then a Punto 60 engine is probably the way to go: very easy swap. Otherwise, SPI head, MPI block and bottom end, skim, re-shim, cut in the valves, etc. while you're at it. Plenty of P75 (early MPI) engines have been fitted, too.

As intimated, there's not really any point in going MPI on the 1108 unless you're turboing it or building a screaming 1108 (expensive) in which case you could even convert the SPI manifold to MPI by welding a set of injector stubs on the inlet mani and run an aftermarket ECU.
