My Fiat Qubo blower switch only works if turned up to No.4
Is this a common problem? Can it be fixed without a visit to the garage/?

Thanks.

Thanks for the answers! I finally got around to taking a look at this.

First I looked under at the 4 wire pin connector andn there was not heat damage to the pins. I was hoping this connector could be removed to unvail the resistor behind but there was seemingly no way to take out.

I then thought the resistor must be behiond the actual fan, the fan was removed exactly the same as the grand-punt link above posted by Charlie.
The resistor was not present on the fan, this was a complete sealed unit.
After removing the fan, this enabled access to the rear of the 4-pin connector and whilst I could not view I could feel that the resistor is mounted behind the 4-pin connector.
I am now stuck as to how the 4-pin connector can be removed as it was fixed in solid and did not have any screws etc holding it in place.
The connector must has some way of coming out, any ideas?

Luigi, That's the one, I could see the silver head but it did not seem to be any screw. Is this a mini hex head? I will get back under the glove dash again, I am now confident we can get this sorted.
Do you know the resistor details I was waiting to get the old one before buying one but if this is a standard component I might just as well get one ordered in advance?

Thanks so much for your time posting on this!!

I think if you look closely at the pic you can see the screw at the top - a hex head but perhaps also a slot in the head too. Usual consideration is that if it went in, it will come out although with car manufacturing it's hard to know what was put in afterwards that makes access difficult!

Try Eurocarparts - they stock pretty much everything :)

Before I buy it says Fiat Grande Punto (vehicles without Aircon).

My Qubo has Aircon?

Just checked this one and it has a compatability check for car models, for the Qubo it outputs: This item does not fit Fiat Qubo 2008 225 [2008-2013] MPV 1.3 D Multijet.
I will contact the others and post if any joy, thnaks again Luigi!

Just thinking...its to dark to view now but would it be possible to just change the resistor on the current setup? Would the resistor have a rating I could take to Maplin for example?
