Hello all, I've not been on here for a few years.
We have a problem with my wife's car, when starting from cold the drive take up is very harsh, we have to ever so gently build up the revs otherwise it snatches, once its warm it's a lot smoother although it's never been silky smooth, we've owned the car since 2016 and have covered approximately 60,000 pretty much trouble free miles.( now showing 105,000) I service and repair the car myself but these auto are something that I've not had anything to do with. Is there any maintainence schedule that I should be doing regarding the gearbox( oil etc)? Or do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone. Will I need an auto gearbox specialist? Thanks in advance.

Is it a typical automatic gearbox? or the Dualogic?

Dualogic is an automated manual gearbox with typical clutch, both operated with hydraulics. There are similar variants in other cars, I myself have one like that in my smart fortwo and in my girlfriend's roadster. The only difference is that in the smarts 450, 451 and 452 it's operated by electric actuators. I have not read the Qubo manual, but I assume you should have, and it is likely you'd find an information that this system requires a periodic maintenance.

In the smart the maintenance is simply a check / alignment procedure of the clutch started with the dedicated computer interface. The computer checks the wear of the clutch and knows how much the actuator needs to be pushed / pulled to operate the clutch properly.

If not aligned for a long time, it gives similar symptomes to yours.

I'm running the procedure at least every oil change (10 tkms) to have best possible experiance and comfort.

Check the user's manual and service manual for instructions. It could also require a temporary hydraulic system oil change.

Hi there thanks for your reply, sorry its taken so long to answer. It's the dualogic gearbox, I'm struggling to find much info on adjustments/ servicing, I've only the basic owners manual so would value and recommendations for a service and repair manual. I'm thinking it's something to do with the hydraulic side as the actual operation is fine once the car is warm.
Cheers

The car can relearn the bite point, etc

I will try and add a long.. But informative.. thread from a few years ago

Nine years... Crikey!

Wow you have done amazingly well to get to 105,000 miles on the original clutch with dualogic control.
I expect it now needs a new clutch kit including the clutch release bearing that has a position sensor together with a "robot overhaul". Followed by relearn procedure using correct computer.
There is a garage in stoke on Trent that is seen as the dualogic expert.
Fingers xed someone will pop up with the name of the garage

Thanks for the reply we're not hard on our cars so they don't get knocked about. To be honest I'm surprised that it's made it to that mileage in general but it's been quite a reliable little car It's not often that I need to use a garage and if there's any way I can sort this myself, I will. It genuinely still drives OK( once its warm that is!). Thanks again.
