Looking to purchase a 1.9 Multijet 150 tomorrow, just after some advice on what to look out for with these cars

Anything that regularly goes faulty on these and is a known problem?

Any advice would be great, thanks

Only specific thing for the Bravo is the climate control fails.... can be fixed.

Hi Guys,
Sorry to bother this topic with my question but I did not want to open a new one, and my question is also related to purchasing :)
So, I was wondering about buying a Fiat Bravo 1.9 JTD 8V 90Le car but I am a bit afraid of this diesel engine. Is it reliable?
I have been told that this engine does not have dual-mass fylwheel, 120Le and 150 Le versions do have. Is it true ?

What are your thoughts on these issues?

Thanks a million!

Again, the JTD engines developed by Fiat Power Train (FPT) are among the very best Diesel engines at this moment.
No wonder, German Bosch purchased from Fiat the technics behind it, and is selling the components under it's own Bosch label...
The 16V versions run a bit more sofisticated, and the DMF makes shifting more comfortable.
When a DMF is treated with care, it is undestructable, been running my 1,9jtd 16V for about 250.000mls ( 400.000km's) with original DMF, Turbo and high pressure fuel pump...

Dear Peter,
That is really impressive, 400.000 kms....
Now, I ma really thinking about that engine... :)

One more hint, how do you mean to "treat the DMF with care" ? What does it mean? Just would like to know how to treat it if I buy a car with this engine.

Cheers,

Don't pretend to be a F1 driver...
Just normal behavior ( don't "race" the car) is enough, and a bit of luck I guess..
I intend to drive this car for at least another 3-4 years, it will have reached the 500.000 km's with ease by then, I expect....
I have to admitt, that I bought a new, spare DMF some years ago, but no need to use it yet...!

Exactley as peter said... you have just bought a bullet proof diesel... i have a 16v 150hp running 200hp ish... on second dmf and clutch at 78k because previous owner was a dick and drove like a prick... i have done 6k now and all is fine.

Look after her and give her some good oil.

Hi All,
I would like to buy a car and a couple of days ago checked one but noticed something strange. One of the pipe comes from the engine? was wet. I wiped it off and it was oil (1.9 Mulitjet 8V) .
Could you please tell me what that pipe is used for, and where it goes to? (see the uploaded picture, red arrow points to the black pipe, I found the picture on the internet).
