punto speedgear cvt gearbox selector issue help

HELP advise wanted asap
punto speedgear cvt gearbox selector issue
works fine in tip tronic mode but dash still say p which every gear i select
when i put into D to drive as a automatic it staying in semi tip tronic mode and dash says p all the time and auto gearbox light flashing all the time
only started today
help as my daughter can not drive it unless in full auto mode

if its staying in tiptronic mode then probably needs new selector, you could get codes read to be sure, or just buy one from classifieds

as u 1702 code has nothing to do with gearbox issue

strange i would have expected code p0705,

i think U1702 is a pas fault, best fix that first

is the battery at full power? best check that first, a battery slightly low on power can play havoc on modern cars

battery been fine starts without fail sounds like plenty of power when turning engine over etc

thats not a test get it tested properly with a meter, before spending money on any thing else

ok will get amp meter on it
can you tell me where the autogear switch input module is ?? code p0705 issue
as you state been raining bad and wind guessing damp ,moist etc got in switch
or i can get a replacement swicth/selector

its on the bottom of gearstick in side the car so dont reckon it got damp

right can see it inside of gear stick selector sprayed it with wd 40
i am now thinking its a bad earth as when i select d drive and go forward in goes into no1 on dash
but when i put my foot on brake it shows d on dash take foot of brake it goes back to no1 back on brake d comes back on
solenoid is clicking as it should etc
how do i earth it straight from battery with link wire to test

try cleaning conectors on rear light that normally makes dash show wrong gears, but it dont normally make it get stuck in tiptronic mode

its in D on gearstick but on dash showing gear NO1 instead of D but when i put my foot on brakes goes back to D on dash take foot off and no1 on dash so deffo electrical issue

update
had both rear lights out connectors all spot on no rust ,corrosion etc
cleaned them,wd 40 them aswell
gearbox still same
but deffo electrical issue
as select D as driving in D mode it goes into gear no1, but when i press foot brake D appears on dash
release footbrake and back to gear no1,press foot brake and back to D :bang:
Solenoid clicking as it should when foot break applied etc
next step book it in at gearbox specialist to find the fault

also noticed when autobox warning light flashing on dash when the foot brake is applied warning light goes out ??

it all points to bad earth, get some one to stan behing car with engine running then press brake when indicators are on and see if any thing strange is happening. i will sell you my part for 50 but i want you to make sure you need it first, i dont want to sell people stuff if they don't need
