I have the Auto Express mag in front of me now, its the MK2/2B.
Its difficult to get a handle on some issues such as "reliability", but consider the rating " Ease of Driving" .
Now the Punto scores 97th out of 100 for ease of driving. Really?
For example the old Discovery, that seemingly top heavy canal barge on wheels, that sometimes wobbles past in the outer lane, scores better on both "ease of Driving" (92) and on handling (82) compared with the MK 2 Punto at 97 and 98 respectively.
Now whatever trouble or not we have had with the MK2/2B ( almost none in my case) how can the Punto come 3rd from the bottom of 100 cars, re "ease Of Driving" with its good visibility cabin, small size and 2 stage electric power steering?
It seems to me to be a seriously flawed survey, but then, its not a provable objective study,
I wonder how many people had a rattling bit of trim and then decided to give it no marks in all categories.
Of course there is also conspiracy theory
