Technical Punto Radio code

Please can somebody help me, I have today had my radio cassette player plugged back in. It keeps saying "wait" but I havent even tried putting a code in :-S

the numbers I have on the cassette is bpr7649372316 and prod nr fiat 735 272 569

Please can anyone help. I brought an x reg fiat punto about 2 months ago. Today i went to halfords and got it taken out as i didnt have the keys to do that. Once i had taken it out all the cassette player would say was "wait" what does this mean? Also what is the code as i dont have one in the manual.

Its a blaupunkt cassette/radio

its had an erroneous code inputted and is locking you out
you need to keep turning the radio on till it turns itself off and keep repeating until the message goes,could take all day mind
sometimes when the message gowes and the radio is the correct one delivered with the car it will automatically start working with no code needed
it might be as cheap to buy a radio off the bay with the code included, ive bought these for 99 pence before now plus postage

sorry to be a pain but could u also give me a quick run down on how to put the code in, I have never done this before.

Also could you advise me how long I have to wait until the wait goes away and if I need to switch my car on while I wait for it to go away.

Your code is 5251

The display shows " WAIT " because someone has tried to enter a wrong code too many times. The waiting time depends on how many times a wrong code has been attempted.

To clear it, you will need to leave the radio and ignition switched on continuously for up to 2 hours or until the display shows " CODE " then " - - - - " then enter the correct code by pressing preset buttons 5 then 2 then 5 then 1. You don't need to press any further buttons to accept the code.

I know this sounds thick but do I literally just press the numbers or do u use the numbers 1-4 to enter the code? A few places have told me you use 1-4 :-S I don't know much about cars

Not sure what you mean by "do u use the numbers 1-4 to enter the code?". The part number you posted earlier is for the radio shown below. It has 6 buttons to the left of the cassette slot labelled 1 to 6.

To enter your code (5251) , press button number 5 once then button number 2 once then button number 5 once then button number 1 once.

I know it sounds stupid but I'm never in the car 2 hours at once. And im scared my battery will die is there not a place u can go too so u don't have to wait as its driving me nuts. Thankd

I left my radio on saying wait and locked my door went for a nap. Once i woke up & went to my car it said enter code yay!!!! I did and now it works thanks so much ur ace.

But now I need to know how to store the radio stations lol please can u help? Thanks

I'm not sure on this radio. Most car radios you tune to the station you want, then press and hold one of the numbered buttons for a few seconds until it beeps to store it.
