You talking about trip MPG or instant MPG?
Also what car is it, which model punto and which engine?

I genrally do about 35 mpg in my mk2 1.2 punto.
most ive had out of my punto is 65.7mpg but it averages out about 50 dependin on how fast i drive haha...
if its that low.. id check your plugs/lamba sensor cause might be sending too much fuel threw

yeah i get about 50 on motorways 40 round town and 55 if driving rconomically on a roads
tried working it out manually?
in my old mk2 1.2 8v MPG was shocking.
My old mk2 8v was about 44MPG combined, my 1.2 mk2b active sport does about 50 - 55 but being a 16v it needs less revs.
havnt a clue what mine did it was shokcing tho exhaust was blwoing though so that proably didnt help
In my HGT i get 30 mpg ish around town 45 ish mway driving

blimey...I once got 76.5mpg out of my 1.2 16v mk2 
Although that was doing 50ish from Glasgow to Cardiff. I was going so slowly because of a hangover alright?
I generally average from 45 to 50 day to day, but I have seen it drop to as low as 35 and that was thrashing it in 2nd due to the gearbox going *pop* and not letting me out of 2nd. And that was covering about 25 miles (don't ask).
anything below 40 and something is wrong even in a 16v!
Get it to a garage (fiat specialist preferably. Just have a look in the "garages" section) and get them to have a look at it.
I personally think it's not firing on all cylinders and to try and make up the power you're thrashing it!

TBH letting it rev still brings up an averge 44 mpg in my 16v. Just give it a thorough service........plugs, leads, some fuel additive (maybe).
Well i have a Punto ELX 1.2 8v . and i drive reasonably . it was about 32 .today when i found out how to reset the trip button . TBH i was changin gears at about 3500 so i adopted a better driving style and it is still at 32 , better than 27 i suppose :|
