Hi everyone,

I've had a few ideas about subtle mods for my Punto.. heres a list;
- Xenon Bulbs for the front.
- Xenon bulb for the number plate light.
- Body coloured mirrors.
- Side skirts (glue swell!)
- Sporting badge (maybe)
- Blue pedal covers. (Already owned but just need to fit)
- Wind deflectors.
- Number plate surrounds. (Ordered off eBay)
- Stickerbombed centre console.

Any thoughts?

Seriously: I like the idea of most of these; and have done a few of them myself. But we all have different tastes; and it would be a boring world if all Puntos looked exactly the same. If you like them, then that's all that counts...! :cool:

There is one proviso to all this, of course.... :chin:

I passed (what should have been) a beautiful Mk3 Panda, today -- but absolutely smothered in what appeared to be randomly-placed daisy décals. It looked like the owner had driven through a meadow or something. :yuck:

Now, I'm sure there is at least one other person who would think it looked marvellous (as well as the current driver) -- but that person is probably not going to be the next owner; and the next owner probably doesn't want to spend hours peeling off stupid flower stickers, and then polishing the paintwork to remove the colour differences, etc.. The price paid will therefore probably be less than for a non-flower-powered equivalent Panda. Which is sad. :(

Very true!

These modifications may suit me, but potential buyers in the future maybe not...

The first of my mods are underway!

My girlfriend brought me some of those aftermarket blue 'competition' pedals... At first I didn't like the thought of them.. I tried cable tying them on just to see what they looked like (pictures to follow) but obviously I couldn't cable tie them on for safety reasons. The pedal covers are designed to be screwed on, but drilling holes would mean that I'd weaken the struts that hold the pedals to the car! That sounded like a recipe for disaster to me, so I decided to gorilla glue them on instead. I've kept the original rubber covers so if/when I come to sell the car I can crack the pedal covers off and hide the glue marks with the rubber covers!

Whether these will last or not, we'll soon see...

Accelerator and brake pedals look a little close together. Be careful as there is minimum requirements for pedal spacing. Although they look nice, I much prefer the originals , much more grip imo.


I like your future mods list, these look nice with a little lowering. Have you got any plans to lower.

Get some pictures up.

iwouidnt trust no glue, not even JB weld on stuff like this,
drill them and bolt them on properly.

or one day you may have to slam on for a taxi or school kid running out in front of you and ping !

I have thought of lowering... The only thing holding me back is the price.. Also finding a place to do it for me..

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update on mods...
Got the number plate surrounds on order, added a few cheeky seat belt covers, done the blue pedal covers (they look great) and I've also just finished the stickerbombed interior..

Overall I'm chuffed to bits with how it looks. My car definitely now fits in with all my friends cars ;) Pictures to follow...

Another few mods have been completed on my little Punto Active Sport.

Just finished fitting my wind deflectors (the best mod on my car IMO, cheap and cheerful) and they look great. So easy to fit and make my Punto look more youthful.

I've also added a Sporting badge (highly controversial I know). My friends are all torn between either 'looks great mate' or 'but it's not a Sporting... It's an Active Sport'. Personally, i think it looks great and adds my own little touch to it (i always loved the Sporting badge on my old Seicento).

And finally I changed all my front bulbs to Xenon's. This mod was one I've been wanting to do for ages.. Just never really got round to it. Getting the connectors off the back of the bulbs turned out to be an absolute nightmare, but now it's done, it was all worth it!

Pictures of the wind deflectors and Sporting badge to follow! (I'll get a picture of the Xenon's when it's dark!
