Hi all,

About a month ago, I bought my first car which is a Punto MK2. It's a great car, but the factory subwoofer in the back doesn't work. It will very occasionally start for a few seconds but then its gone again and I have no idea why.

I read on here somewhere that changing the radio in the car can cause the sub to not work, but the radio has only just been replaced and even before that it wasn't working properly.

Is there any easy fix to this as I'd really like to get it working. If there's a more complicated fix, please 'dumb it down' as much as possible as like I said this is my first car and I have no idea about any technical stuff yet.

Thanks in advance! :D

Need to check its getting 2 power feeds :)
1 is constant (red iirc)
1 is Switched (grey) - the switched is STEREO CONTROLLED, the stereo may on certain functions switch off the subwoofer like on radio

Check the ground (black)

Then there are 4 other wires
These are
"""Negative and positive"" Signal feeds - these are hardwired into the rear speakers feeds

It may be the subwoofers kaput to start with

i believe high spec cars came with it as standard :) so the eleganze and HGT's

Unless you spec'd it in :) i think sportings got them as well?

My eleganze hasn't got one but it has got the wiring plug on display, is this normally hidden? I'm thinking a previous owner might have removed it?

the sportings do have them well some anyway i got told my sporting hasnt but when i got it there was a vent on the left of the boot and behind it a sub :D
