Hi,
Got a punto MK2. Stock speakers (front, no rear).
Head unit: CDX-GT24

Looking to upgrade the audio system. Sub&AMP, improve front speakers.
Not sure if the headunit is able to support AMP / Sub. No idea how this side of things work in a car.

Wonder if someone can give me a bit of advice on what I could do, easily. Would be looking <£200 for everything. IF I can get some second hand kit, even better.

Hi mate,

I'm planning to upgrade my Punto Mk2 in the near future too. So fat I have bought a dashboard adapter to allow me to fit a standard single din head unit.

My next plan is to purchase the front speaker pod adapers (Autoleads SAK-1409) and the Hertz Dieci DSK 165's to upgrade the fronts, I may think about doing the back with something slightly better quality but that's for another time.

However I could do with some confirmation that I am going down the right route so don't take my research and plan to heart.

If someone could suggest a nice amp then I would also be willing to listen but would a good head unit suffice for powering these speakers?

I would recomend making or have made some MDF baffles as the plastic adaptors just vibrate and dont give components a very solid baffle to lick off of.

I would def go down the Din Adaptor rout and put in an aftermarket Head Unit.

An amp would be a very good, but all in all i dont think you will get a sub and amp in your £200 budget so i would suggest saving up for that and puting this in at a later date.
With this in mind look for a 4 gauge wiring kit. knukonceptz.com or Autoleads would be preferable on budget.

Second hand gear will be the best option so just keep an eye out on ebay etc for diamond, JL, MTX, JBL, DLS and such brands. Then post here what you have seen and we can pass comment.
