I've just managed to get my Mk1 Punto back on the road again thanks to some helpful tips found on this forum, but I am getting an annoying 'metal-on-metal' noise just after I change up into 1st and 2nd gears. I can't hear anything once I am in 3rd, but I'm not sure if that is because the engine is draining the noise out.
I have changed the head-gasket, spark plugs, timing belt, coolant and have given it a good clean up, and now it drives like a dream apart from this annoying noise!! I can't really pinpoint where it is coming from but it sounds like it may be doing some damage. Does anyone have any ideas? Sorry I can't be more specific!
