Technical Punto Mk 1 seat cloth

Has anyone had the same problems with the seat cloth on the 60sx model. Two types of cloth seem to be available on this model with the other seemingly more hard wearing. Bought the car at 2yrs old and within 12months the rear bench seat was splitting where sewn together. Also the seat material seems to be suspect to pulls. Does anyone know where bench seat material can be replaced with original cloth or would it be cheaper to replace the seat. Can the material be replaced as a DIY project ?
