Technical Punto Matrix Leaking

Hello everybody,
I have notices few days ago that when I turn the to hot, white smoke starts to come out from the vent hole under the windshield. I asume that the matrix is leaking, as from time to time I need to ad some liquid in the system. Can anybody please advise if this is DYS job? How that can be fixed. I took a look and it doesnt seem to be so complicated, lots of screws and plastic. Arethere are any instrunctions with pictures posted somewhere. I am afraid that I moght loose all the liquid in the system while on the road, which might be messy.

welcome to the forum a lot of guys on here have added barrs leek or radweld and its fixed the problem. if you want to replace the matrix instructions are given in the haynes manual, the whole dash has to come out, then working under the engine bay remove all nuts that hold the heater box on, then remove that, its an all day job.

yeah try an bottle of bars leak its worth a go. make sure you have yoru heater set to hot so the barsleakwill enter the matrix.

Thank you mates. Its a bit of problem for me to get the haynes manual, as I am from Bosnia, but will try to manage it somehow.

do you know what rad weld and bars leak are? they are an additive that blocks holes in cooling systems.

well i have used barsleak before to fix radiator leaks and worked great.

The heater matrix is a problem on Fiats. The whole dash has to be removed, it is an all day job. Dealer will charge £300+.

dealers who post on here can do it a lot quicker than that now, as they have done so many. takes average joe all day though.

yep, i can recomend barsleak. I had a leaking matrix so put 2 bottles of the stuff in and it sorted it right out - that was almost 2yrs ago. Ive change the coolant a few times since then and each time ive added another bottle to be on the safe side. Touch wood its still holding back the flood
