Everything is well but when you start the car it makes a screeching noice, it goes but again when you rev the engine its there. It goes away completely when the temperature gauge reaches quarter mark. Can someone please help me?

Thanks :)

EDIT: Can the Fan Belt Be causing this?

Hi Charlie, i asked the previous owner and he said its the fan belt, im new so i dont know where the fan belt is located can you give me a brief discription please? Thanks

Hi ,
as you open the bonnett.. it's at the left of the engine , at the left hand rear is a silver/grey coloured electric motor ( alternator), the fan belt is the black band that goes from there forwards to the engine ( the engine turns the belt to drive the alternator to make electric to charge the battery).

with the engine off and cold..!!

try feeling the belt ( you'll have to lean over the engine a little- you may get dirty)
the inneredge of the belt has a V shape to it , or a series of little peaks , try "twisting" the belt from side to side..if you can do more than 1/4 of a turn ( 90 degrees) then it's too loose and will need to be tightened,

try using the "SEARCH" icon , on the red banner above this,

it's a fiddly job , so have a good read before attempting it,
it may be worth fitting a new belt, as it'll be worn if it's been slipping for long,
Charlie

Ye probably the fanbelt, try smearing the inner edge of it with washing up liquid. Sounds wierd, but worked for me on a cinquecento and I've seen electricians do it with alternator belts :)

yes, you're just trying to make the wear surfaces of the belt "tacky" again,
years ago - there was an industrial aerosol product called Belt Doctor,
it was just like cheap hairspray..!!,

but in my experience squaky car belts are on their way out never work that well again , and you'll be better off with a new belt,
Charlie
